Our dedication to ethical practices and material choices ensures that you not only look good but also feel good about choosing our garments.

MODAL

Modal is a natural material made from cellulose derived from beech trees. The production process is similar to that of viscose but involves a more intensive processing, making modal more durable. Modal fabric has many advantages. It shares similar properties with cotton, being incredibly soft and comfortable against the skin, while also possessing high wet strength and thus not shrinking in machine wash. It is also quick-drying, maintains its shape, and retains color very well after washing.

Furthermore, modal is the environmentally friendly choice. Being a natural material, it is relatively gentle on the environment compared to the production of chemically produced fabrics. Modal fabric is also one of the most environmentally friendly choices among natural materials as its production uses less water than, for example, cotton production.

Care instructions:

Modal fabric can be machine washed on low heat, 30 °C, using a gentle wash cycle. Hang your washed modal garments to dry to avoid wrinkles.

ORGANIC COTTON

Cotton is a natural fiber extracted from the cotton plant, a shrub that grows in the world's tropical and subtropical regions. Cotton is a lightweight and breathable material, making it suitable for garments worn close to the body. However, the production process requires a lot of water, fertilizer, and pesticides. Organic cotton is a more environmentally friendly option as it is supposed to be produced without chemical pesticides and artificial fertilizers. The land where the cotton is grown must have been free from chemicals for at least three years, and organic cotton must be certified to be called organic.

Care Instructions:

Wash at 40 °C. Cotton can be tumble dried, but garments may shrink, and excessive heat can also damage the fabric fibers. Tumble dry at lower heat and for shorter cycles, or alternatively, air dry.

POLYAMIDE

Polyamide is a synthetic material made from oil and is similar to polyester. Both polyamide and polyester are durable materials, but polyamide has the highest resistance while also being lightweight and having good stretch capabilities.

Care Instructions:

Wash at a maximum of 40 °C. Do not tumble dry.

ELASTANE

Elastane is a highly elastic polyurethane fiber. It is used to make garments more stretchable. Elastane can be blended with both natural and synthetic fibers to create more stretchy garments. It is often mixed with natural materials to increase stretch and extend the lifespan.

Care Instructions:

Wash at a maximum of 40 °C without fabric softener. Avoid tumble drying garments marked with elastane.

VISCOSE

Viscose is a regenerated fiber made from natural cellulose extracted from recycled wood fibers. Initially developed as a cheaper alternative to silk, viscose is sometimes mistaken for silk due to its similar properties of being shiny, soft, and smooth. It is also lightweight and cool to wear.

Care Instructions:

Hand wash or use a delicate cycle with short spin at 30-40 °C. Dry flat.

PU-LEATHER

Faux leather is often abbreviated as "PU" because it consists of textile that has been dyed and coated with a thicker layer of high-gloss polyurethane (abbreviated as PU). Polyurethane is a type of plastic. PU leather resembles leather but is much more durable and does not contain any animal products. It can be manufactured to resemble leather, suede, or nubuck.

Care Instructions:

Do not wash. If your PU garment gets dirty, wipe it clean with a damp cloth.

PLEASE NOTE: Bodssy's garments are made from blends of the above materials, and it is important to follow the care instructions for each individual garment. Care instructions can be found on the product page under "details." Please contact sales@bodssy.com for any questions or concerns.
